3P Silicate Resin®

Characterization

Built for fast-setting, high-strength rehabilitation.

3PX Silicate Resin® is a two-component system developed for the rehabilitation of industrial and communal wastewater facilities, water insulation of engineering structures. It results in a thick, high-strength, and chemical-resistant coating on technological structures. It's also suitable for use as a matrix material for glass fiber reinforced composites for various applications.

Composition

3PX Silicate Resin is made of two liquid components:

  • A component: waterglass solution
  • B component: isocyanate-based blend
  • A+B mixture: light, yellowish emulsion

Properties

  • extremely fast-setting
  • high strength
  • high chemical resistance
  • high abrasion resistance

77 °F4 - 6 min25 - 35 min

Mixing guidance

  • Avoid all contact with moisture during handling, especially for component B and humid ambient air.
  • Mix components A and B in a plastic bucket with a drill and paint-mixing rod at 300 to 600 r/min for 1 minute.
  • Keep the components between 59 °F and 77 °F during mixing and minimize air entrapment.
  • Longer mixing time or higher mixing speed shortens pot life and should be avoided.
  • Let the homogenized blend rest for 30 minutes, remix for up to 1 minute, and use the full batch immediately after mixing.
